Finally, Strategy 11 – Increase your prices!
Finally, number 11. (OK, I know I said 10 strategies, but I’m on a roll and you’ve read this far you deserve a bonus).
So Number 11 is… Increase your prices!
We’re in tough times so how can it make sense to increase your prices, I hear you saying?
In my experience almost everyone sells themselves and their products too cheaply.
I believe that for many, not all, increasing your prices and selling more expensive products and services to the high end of the market is one of the quickest and cheapest ways to increase your profits, yes, even in today’s market
Less than 20% of the population make their buying decisions on price. So for most of your customers, price is not the main issue, even if they may say it is.
Don’t believe me? OK, next time you’re at the super market take a look around the car park.
You can buy a perfectly good, road worthy and reliable care for what… £3000? Easily. So if that’s the case, why are there cars in that same car park that are worth two, three, even ten time more?
Why? Because people buy on wants and benefits – not price!!!
The easy way to do this is to think about creating a “deluxe” offering which costs you nothing to offer but for which you can command a much higher price.
